Well I think Spectra is technically Scotland’s festival of light, rather than Aberdeen, but we’re so lucky to have this in Aberdeen. This year was our third visit and it was one of the best. We did run out of time again, so next year we’ll plan to do it over two nights, because queueing with the kids is only ok up to a certain point.
Here are some of my favourites from the nights, the kids loved the Fox and the trees in Union Terrace Gardens, I preferred something a little more subtle.
My favourite was actually something that returned from last year and we managed to catch just be chance. It was the bikes with the projectors on them, the cycled up and down making it look like the simple projections of spiders and skeletons were walking along the buildings. It was simple but it was engaging.
We did learn some things for next year, taking snacks and drinks is always a good idea, luckily I had lots, and we’ll do it over 2 nights next year.
Did you attend? What was your favourite?
