Welcome to your hypnobirthing journey, at SONA we’ve helped over 500 parents have a more positive birth experience, working with expectant parents is our passion, we’ve been teaching hypnobirthing locally for 8 years.

Whether you’re looking for an online option, or our popular local group classes, in Aberdeenshire, Angus and the Highlands, or bespoke sessions, we have an option to suit you and your family.

Our mission at SONA is to help you prepare for whatever birth you and baby need. Hypnobirthing to us is a way to prepare for all types of birth. You will learn how amazing your body really is, understanding how it works in labour so that you can work with it, using breathing techniques and learning to relax deeply to preserve energy in labour.

We will help your birth partner prepare to be a really useful support in labour, and provide time to ask all of the questions you have about pregnancy, birth and parenthood.

Hypnobirthing with SONA Mum is about support for you and your partner, both during class and afterwards – our ongoing support is key in the experience of our clients. Our classes are based on logic and evidence, and we’ll make sure we explain why the things we cover are so important.

HYPNOBIRTHING COURSES – ABERDEENSHIRE, ANGUS AND SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

Below you’ll find a list of our upcoming classes, if you don’t see any that suit, we offer one to one classes, or we can create a bespoke course for a group of friends (just fill out the enquiry form at the bottom of this page). These are full hypnobirthing birth preparation course, through breathing, self-hypnosis, relaxation, visualisation and affirmations you will prepare for a more positive birth experience. The cost includes the book and 5 mp3s which accompany the course as well as ongoing support by email and phone. (Ticket is for mums to be, plus one birth companion). Classes are suitable from 20weeks pregnancy

ONE TO ONE CLASSES & DOULAS

There are many reasons our clients choose to do one to one classes, including wanting a day/time that suits them and their family, the privacy and option to discuss their specific situation, a previous traumatic birth they’d like to work through or just a preference for one to one.

Bespoke Sessions

Jade offers an in depth 7 week package, designed to help you be prepared for birth and parenthood, and to help you protect your mental health in pregnancy and early parenthood. As a clinical hypnotherapist Jade goes much deeper than the standard hypnobirthing classes. This is perfect for anyone who is particularly anxious about pregnancy and birth, or who has had a previous traumatic birth, or previous or current mental health challenges.

One to one support from experienced hypnobirthing teacher and clinical hypnotherapist, Jade Gordon:

  • 7 x 90min Hypnotherapy for Birth Sessions
  • Additional session after birth to talk through your experience (~90mins)
  • A hypnobirthing course tailored to your individual circumstances
  • Relaxation MP3s specifically selected for you
  • Ongoing support through WhatsApp / phone.

I didn’t do much to prepare for the birth of my first son and as a result, I didn’t have a particularly positive experience of labour. When I fell pregnant again I decided that I was going to do things differently.

I attended prenatal yoga and Jade’s hypnobirthing course. The course really helped disperse all of the apprehension that I felt about giving birth again. I felt really positive about what was to come and in a weird way, I was looking forward to it!

My second son was born calmly and dare I say, easily. I felt completely in control throughout and totally empowered. It was an intense but hugely positive experience.

There is no doubt in my mind that it was all attributable to the knowledge that I had and the practice that I completed, as a result of Jade’s course. I have recommended hypnobirthing to all of my friends since and would recommend it to everyone! My view is that it should be taught instead of the typical antenatal classes!

After a traumatic first birth and recovery in 2008 I was apprehensive about birthing when I found out I was pregnant with my second child.

I was keen to have an intervention free, natural, calm birth with my second child and hypnobirthing allowed me to achieve this.
Birthing really is a journey and Jade Gordon’s hypnobirthing course gave me the tools I needed to be fully prepared to trust my body to birth my baby, and I did!

My labour was significantly reduced because I was so relaxed and prepared, I now look back and see my second birth as an entirely positive experience thanks to hypnobirthing. If I didn’t undertake the hypnobirthing course I fully believe I would have opted for an elective section, instead I had a natural birth and was up and about within 2 hours.

I also have a very calm, content baby. Hypnobirthing encourages you to communicate with your baby before birth, helping him to feel secure and loved.

I would highly recommend anyone who has any apprehensions about birth to give hypnobirthing a try, you won’t regret it.

My birth did not go to plan. In fact, it was the complete opposite of what I wanted.

Having said that using the positive affirmations and relaxation techniques helped to keep me calm during my long failed induction and dealing with the realisation that I would have to have an emergency c-section.

Hypnobirthing has helped me to see the whole thing as a positive experience rather than focussing on the negative. Throughout the whole experience the Midwife’s constantly commented on how relaxed I was, I was just focussing on my breathing, listening to my body and chanting positive affirmations throughout.
